Ilovetheupperwestside: Martin Scorsese, Ethan Hawke Involved in Latest Metro Theater Revival Attempt

The Metro Theater at 2626 Broadway, which has been vacant since 2005 despite various failed redevelopment attempts, may finally see a revival through a new initiative. Film producer Ira Deutchman and co-founder Adeline Monzier have launched the Upper West Side Cinema Center (UWSCC) to transform the theater into a nonprofit five-screen art house, featuring film screenings, educational programs, and community events.
